Today we are praying for Vietnam
On Wednesday of last week, Vietnam was in our top ten list of nations with the most people visiting our website and accessing our resources. We’re thankful that God is allowing us to help equip the church of Vietnam, and we praying for the millions of people who don’t know him.
Join us in praying for Vietnam today. Here is some information to guide you.
Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country with a population of over 97 million people, known for its rich history, diverse culture, and natural beauty. The dominant religion in Vietnam is a combination of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism, which together form a belief system called "Tam Giao" (Three Religions). Christianity, particularly Catholicism, is practiced by a minority of the population. Despite some restrictions on religious freedom, the number of Christians, including Protestants, has been growing in recent years.
Here is a prayer guide on how Christians can pray for Vietnam:
- Religious Freedom: Pray for increased religious freedom in Vietnam, where Christians and other religious minorities can face challenges in practicing their faith openly. Ask God to soften the hearts of government officials and bring about positive change in religious policies, ensuring that all citizens can freely worship and express their beliefs.
- Growth of the Church: Pray for the continued growth and strengthening of the Church in Vietnam, that more people would come to know Jesus Christ and experience the life-changing power of the Gospel. Pray for unity and perseverance among believers and churches, enabling them to effectively share their faith and impact their communities for God's Kingdom.
- Government and Leaders: Pray for Vietnam's government and leaders, that they would govern with wisdom, integrity, and a heart for justice. Ask God to guide their decisions in a way that promotes peace, stability, and prosperity for all citizens and encourages respect for human rights and religious freedom.
- Social and Economic Challenges: Vietnam faces various social and economic challenges, such as poverty, income inequality, and limited access to quality education and healthcare. Pray that God would provide innovative solutions to these issues and raise up individuals and organizations to address the needs of the most vulnerable populations.
- Christian Witness and Discipleship: Pray for Vietnamese Christians to be a bold and loving witness to their communities, sharing the hope of Christ with others. Pray for the growth and effectiveness of discipleship programs, equipping believers to mature in their faith and become committed followers of Christ who impact their families, workplaces, and society for God's glory.
- Missions and Outreach: Pray for the work of missionaries and Christian organizations in Vietnam, that they would be able to navigate the unique challenges of serving in this context. Ask God to protect, encourage, and provide for them, as well as grant them wisdom and favor in their ministry efforts.
Incorporate these prayer points into your personal or group prayer times, asking God to move mightily in Vietnam and bring transformation, healing, and hope to its people.
