Sabbath Psalm (Revision of John Peterson’s hymn, ‘Holy Spirit, Now Outpoured’)
Holy Spirit, now outpoured,
Sent by our ascended Lord,
Fill our Sabbath rest today;
Be our hallowed Guest, we pray!
Meet us in a sacred place;
We, like Moses, seek Your face;
Lead us further up and in;
Nearer than we’ve ever been!
Guide us in Your truth, we plead,
Light the holy page we read;
Etch the precepts deep within;
Where we’ve failed, forgive our sin!
Myst’ries of Your word, reveal!
All that sin has broken, heal!
Dying embers reignite!
Through the shadows be our Light!
