Sabbath Psalm (Revision of Frederick Brewster’s hymn, ‘Lord God, Our Thanks to Thee We Raise’)
Lord God, our thanks to You we raise,
For those who built this house of praise;
Who long ago together stood,
To form a Christian brotherhood.
Here have our children known Your care
And raised their thoughts to You in prayer;
Here we have shared the Wine and Bread,
And had our spirits weekly fed.
Be this our common enterprise:
That truth be preached and prayers arise;
That each may seek the other’s good,
And live and love as Jesus would.
May love abound in word and deed—
Make of our faith a living creed;
And help us carry high Your light,
Till night is day and faith is sight.
