Roll Call

Isaiah 43:6-7
“I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”

Don’t let anyone convince you that there isn’t a beautiful hierarchy to God’s created order and that we as His children aren’t at the precipice of it. Look at the words here, friend. God personifies ‘the north’ and ‘the south’ as if they actually had personality, but they don’t, and this literary play only further reveals how significant we really are. Effectively, time and space are blueprints for the theatre, but not the drama. Earth is a lot-marker for the stage, but not the crucial act. Yes, all created things have divine distinctions, but not divine names. All created works contain God’s fingerprints, but not His breath. All living things come with angel choirs to the throne of Heaven, but not as sons and daughters.

Don’t ever forget how uniquely precious you are on the world-stage today. Your life is written in the very heart of the story—God’s own heart; so rejoice in your role, and live it out with all you’ve got.
