Redeeming Love

Mark 3:34-35
And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.”

The humility of God is so remarkable that there is not a word to encapsulate it. Watch Him incarnate into our physical world, walk in human flesh to empathize with our frailty, suffer death for our redemption, and then turn back around to us and effectively say, “You are now My brothers and sisters!” For a perfect and holy God to forgive sinful humanity is humiliation enough. But to share His kingdom and all His glory with forgiven humanity is an even deeper humility than we can grasp.

Jesus holds nothing back in His love for you and me. Are you withholding anything in your love for Him?

Further Reflection

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.
