Only Jesus
Mark 9:8
And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them but Jesus only.
Have you ever heard that old Southern Gospel song, I Dreamed of a City Called Glory? The song tells the story of a Christian who tours Heaven and moves from one glorious sight to another. He sees Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and he even talks with Mark and sits with Timothy. But the climactic moment occurs when the Christian cries out, “But Timothy, I want to see Jesus! He’s the One who died for me!” Those tension-filled lines so wonderfully illustrate the Christian life, don’t they? Everything has a way of fading from view in light of Him. In fact, can’t you summarize your most intimate moments of worship by personalizing Mark 9:8 to read, “I no longer saw anyone with me but Jesus only?”
More than lines in a song … make seeing Jesus your ambition today.

You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”
