The Wisdom Journey through Zechariah
The book of Zechariah offers some of the clearest prophecies of Christ found in the Old Testament. Some of those prophecies were fulfilled in Christ’s first coming. Others await their fulfillment in Christ’s second coming. But we must remember that like the prophet Haggai, Zechariah was called to exhort the Jewish people of his day to complete the rebuilding of the Jerusalem temple. He accomplishes this by pointing them to the glorious future the Lord has promised them. Herein is an important principle for us today. When we look with eyes of faith to the ultimate completion of God’s eternal work, we will be inspired to faithfully complete the work He has given us in the present.
