The Journey Through Isaiah
The Wisdom Journey through Isaiah
No Old Testament book outside of Psalms is quoted or referenced more often in the New Testament than the book of Isaiah. Isaiah offered solemn warnings to the people of his day, who in their rebellion against God were destined for divine judgment at the hands of enemy nations. But much of the prophet’s ministry was offering comfort and hope to Israel for a future day when their Messiah will reign as King. That King, Isaiah reveals, would also be the Suffering Servant, who is pierced for our transgressions so that by his wounds we are healed.
