Joshua and all the people of Israel were to step out in faith, with courage and strength and the assurance of God’s presence, as they consistently obeyed His word. The battles we face as believers are not against flesh and blood but are spiritual battles. Yet, they too require strength, courage, faith, and obedience to God’s Word. As we trust and follow the Lord, He will give us success and even reward us, but we must remember that we leave the battlefield as we entered it: as humble servants of our Master.
