This lesson explores the book of Habakkuk and how the prophet grapples with the issue of evil and suffering in the world. Stephen dispels the myth that becoming a Christian means that all problems go away, and explains that Habakkuk asks God why evil is allowed to go unchecked. God responds by revealing that He is preparing the Babylonians as an instrument of judgment and that they, too, will be judged. We may not understand what God is doing, but we can trust Him as the sovereign Lord who will always do the right thing at just the right time. The primary lesson of Habakkuk is that we can trust God even in the midst of confusion and uncertainty.
