The Netherlands, known for its canals, innovation, and cultural influence, is a Western European country with a population of over 17 million people. Though it once played a vital role in the Protestant Reformation and global missions, the Netherlands has become one of the most secular nations in Europe. Many people identify as non-religious or view faith as outdated or irrelevant. While churches still exist, attendance has declined sharply, and biblical preaching is increasingly rare. Yet, God is still at work. A small number of evangelical churches are faithfully sharing the gospel, and there are signs of spiritual hunger, especially among younger generations and immigrant communities.

This week, we invite you to pray for the Netherlands. Ask God to awaken hearts to the truth, renew gospel witness across the land, and strengthen believers to live boldly for Christ.

Ways to Pray for the Netherlands:

1. Pray for spiritual awakening, especially in cities where secularism is deeply rooted.

2. Ask God to raise up faithful gospel-preaching churches, both in historic buildings and new church plants.

3. Pray for pastors and leaders, that they would hold firmly to God’s Word and shepherd with courage.

4. Lift up young adults and students, many of whom have never heard the gospel clearly.

5. Intercede for families, that Christian homes would model love, grace, and biblical truth.

6. Pray for immigrants and refugees, that they would encounter Christ and bring new life to local churches.

7. Ask God to heal the wounds caused by empty religion, and replace it with vibrant personal faith in Jesus.

8. Lift up Christian educators and ministry leaders, working to influence culture with grace and truth.

9. Pray for revival among those in church tradition, that they would encounter the risen Christ.

10. Intercede for unity among believers, that evangelical churches would encourage one another and reach out together.

11. Pray for the Netherlands to once again be a sending nation, supporting missions and gospel efforts worldwide.

12. Ask God to bring lasting fruit, that generations to come would know and walk with the Lord.
