How can we pray for you?

Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) is a Southeast Asian country with a population of over 55 million people. It is deeply influenced by Buddhism, with the majority of citizens practicing Theravada Buddhism alongside animistic beliefs. In recent years, Myanmar has experienced violent civil unrest, military coups, and ethnic persecution—especially against minority groups like the Rohingya and the Christian Chin, Kachin, and Karen peoples. Many churches have been attacked or displaced, yet the gospel continues to spread through faithful believers. While Christians make up around 6% of the population, evangelical believers are often among the most targeted. Still, they remain bold in their faith, clinging to Christ and reaching others despite suffering.

This week, we invite you to pray for Myanmar. Ask God to bring peace to this fractured land, protect His people, and cause the gospel to flourish even in the darkest corners.

Ways to Pray for Myanmar:

1. Pray for peace and justice, especially for ethnic minorities facing violence and displacement.

2. Ask God to protect the persecuted church, especially in the Chin, Kachin, and Karen regions.

3. Pray for strength and endurance for pastors and leaders who serve under constant threat.

4. Lift up young believers, that they would be rooted in the Word and courageous in their faith.

5. Intercede for Buddhist-background seekers, that they would come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord.

6. Pray for boldness and love among Christians witnessing to their neighbors amid fear and instability.

7. Ask God to provide Bibles and discipleship materials, especially in native languages and refugee areas.

8. Lift up humanitarian ministries, that they would bring practical help and the hope of Christ.

9. Pray for believers in refugee camps and border regions, that they would remain faithful and encouraged.

10. Ask God to raise up leaders from within Myanmar, to shepherd the church through adversity.

11. Pray against spiritual darkness and fear, and for the light of Christ to bring healing and truth.

12. Pray for lasting transformation, that Myanmar would not only find peace politically but revival spiritually.
