How can we pray for you?

Mozambique is a large, coastal nation in southeastern Africa with a population of over 33 million people. Portuguese is the official language, and the country is religiously diverse—home to Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, and traditional animist beliefs. While many identify as Christian, biblical understanding is often shallow, and syncretism is common. In the northern regions, Islamic extremism has led to violence and displacement, creating both physical and spiritual crises. Yet the church is present and active, and many people are open to the message of Jesus. Evangelical believers and ministries are working to provide relief, plant churches, and make disciples in the face of hardship.

This week, we invite you to pray for Mozambique. Ask God to bring peace to areas of conflict, strengthen the evangelical church, and raise up a new generation of believers who live with gospel conviction and compassion.

Ways to Pray for Mozambique:

1. Pray for peace in the north, where insurgent violence has forced thousands to flee their homes.

2. Ask God to protect and empower churches ministering in conflict zones and refugee camps.

3. Pray for gospel clarity, that people would trust in Christ alone and reject false teaching or blended religion.

4. Lift up pastors and church leaders, that they would teach the Bible faithfully and shepherd well.

5. Intercede for the youth of Mozambique, that they would be discipled and grow in their faith.

6. Pray for families, especially those fractured by poverty, war, or displacement.

7. Ask God to strengthen Christian education and theological training, especially in rural and underserved areas.

8. Pray for mission workers and church planters, that they would be protected and fruitful in ministry.

9. Lift up believers ministering to Muslims, that they would serve with love, patience, and boldness.

10. Pray for Christian radio and Bible distribution, to reach people with truth in their own language.

11. Ask God to heal physical and emotional wounds, especially in communities hit hardest by war and poverty.

12. Pray for long-term transformation, that Mozambique would be known not just for faith in name, but for genuine love and obedience to Christ.
