Prayer for the Nations: Kyrgyzstan
Introduction to Kyrgyzstan:
Kyrgyzstan is a landlocked, mountainous nation in Central Asia with a population of around 7 million people. While it was once part of the Soviet Union, it has since become an independent republic with a blend of ancient traditions and modern challenges. The majority of Kyrgyz people are culturally Muslim, though most are not devout in practice. Evangelical Christians are a small minority and often face social pressure, discrimination, and even persecution—especially those who come from a Muslim background. Despite these obstacles, God is at work through faithful believers who are courageously sharing the gospel in their communities. Let’s lift up Kyrgyzstan this week in prayer.
This week, we ask you to pray for Kyrgyzstan. Pray for open hearts, bold witness, and the strengthening of the church. Let’s intercede for those facing opposition and for the gospel to take root and bear fruit across the nation.
Ways to Pray for Kyrgyzstan:
1. Pray for spiritual awakening, that many Kyrgyz people would place their faith in Jesus Christ.
2. Ask God to strengthen the evangelical church, especially in rural areas where believers may feel isolated.
3. Pray for boldness and courage for those sharing the gospel with friends and family.
4. Lift up believers from Muslim backgrounds, that they would be protected and discipled in their faith.
5. Pray for young people, that they would seek truth and find life in Christ amid growing secular and traditional influences.
6. Intercede for pastors and church leaders, that they would be equipped to shepherd well and stand firm in the faith.
7. Pray for unity among believers, across ethnic and denominational lines, as they reach out in love.
8. Ask God to open doors for the gospel through media, internet, and personal relationships.
9. Pray for religious freedom, that Christians would be able to worship and evangelize without fear or restriction.
10. Lift up Christian workers and missionaries, that they would serve with wisdom, humility, and Spirit-led boldness.
11. Pray for the translation and distribution of Scripture, especially in the Kyrgyz language.
12. Ask God to raise up a new generation of leaders, passionate about making Christ known in Kyrgyzstan and beyond.
Thank you for joining us in prayer for Kyrgyzstan. The church may be small, but the gospel is powerful. Let’s continue to pray that God will build His church in this nation, protect His people, and draw many to salvation through Jesus Christ.
