Prayer for the Nations: Kuwait
Introduction to Kuwait:
Kuwait is a small but wealthy country in the Arabian Gulf with a population of around 4.3 million people—two-thirds of whom are foreign workers. Islam is the state religion, and the majority of Kuwaiti citizens are Muslim. While there is a small number of local believers, the evangelical church primarily exists among the expatriate population. These believers often meet in legally approved compounds, but evangelism among Kuwaiti citizens is restricted, and conversion from Islam is socially and legally risky. Still, God is at work in quiet and powerful ways, and the gospel continues to spread through relationships, digital outreach, and faithful witness. Let’s lift up Kuwait in prayer, asking the Lord to open hearts and strengthen the body of Christ.
This week, we invite you to pray for Kuwait. Ask God to move in this strategic nation—reaching both locals and expatriates with the truth of the gospel. Let’s intercede for boldness, protection, and fruitfulness among believers in Kuwait.
Ways to Pray for Kuwait:
1. Pray for spiritual hunger among Kuwaiti citizens, that they would seek truth and find salvation in Jesus Christ.
2. Ask God to protect and strengthen the small number of Kuwaiti believers, who often follow Christ in secrecy.
3. Pray for expatriate Christians, that they would live faithfully and boldly share the gospel within their communities.
4. Lift up pastors and Christian leaders, that they would have wisdom, courage, and opportunities to disciple others.
5. Pray for laborers in the harvest, that God would call more people to serve in Kuwait through work, ministry, or missions.
6. Intercede for the youth of Kuwait, that they would be open to hearing the gospel and encounter the love of Christ.
7. Ask God to break through spiritual strongholds, including fear, religious pressure, and materialism.
8. Pray for the effective use of digital evangelism tools, especially in reaching those who cannot be reached in person.
9. Lift up Christian communities meeting in approved buildings, that they would be safe and used by God to equip believers.
10. Pray for wisdom and favor with government authorities, especially for churches and ministry leaders.
11. Intercede for gospel access in the Arabic language, through media, Scripture, and personal witness.
12. Ask God to raise up bold Kuwaiti believers, who will one day lead the church in their own nation.
Thank you for praying with us for Kuwait this week. Though much of the work in this nation is quiet and unseen, God is moving. Let’s pray that seeds of faith would take root, that the gospel would flourish, and that many in Kuwait would come to know Jesus as Savior and King.
