The Way

John 13:33 “Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’”

If you’ve studied the apostle John’s three letters in your New Testament, you’ve noticed the way he often uses that endearing title, ‘Little children’, when addressing believers. He got that from Jesus! Here, in John 13, our Lord, knowing that the path He is about to walk is beyond our comprehension and that the depth of His internal suffering cannot be condensed into words, tenderly draws His disciples close to His side and effectively says, “Children, there are paths I have to walk alone.”

Friend, when the way before you is unclear, remember that your Heavenly Father is making a way for you, that you are still young in your understanding, and that all will become clear in time.
