The Parenting Principle
John 16:12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.”
Have you ever noticed a newborn animal jumping to its feet immediately after birth? Why can’t we as humans grow that quickly? Six months go by and we’re still speaking gibberish. A year goes by and we haven’t even taken a first step. Two years go by and we still can’t change ourselves. And why can’t our spiritual walk of faith only take a few short lessons as well? Why is discipleship equally painstaking and slow? I believe our Heavenly Father wants us to have an eye-opening glimpse into just how patient He is with us. He knows the grace, faithfulness, and time it will take to develop us into His likeness and He is eternally up to the task.
Friend, if your Lord so lovingly stoops to meet you where you are, shouldn’t you do the same for others?
