As a Rule

Isaiah 51:4
“Give attention to me, my people, and give ear to me, my nation; for a law will go out from me, and I will set my justice for a light to the peoples.”

Often, when we think of laws in a biblical sense, we mistake them for specific regulations that can either be adhered to or broken, but that isn’t so. Nothing in God is malleable, which means that laws which reflect His perfect character are unbreakable. So if I hear God say, “Thou shalt not kill,” and I go out and murder my brother anyway, I haven’t broken the law: I’ve broken myself against the law. In so doing, I become like a wannabe superhero who defies gravity by leaping off a cliff, only to find himself, not gravity, in a heap at the bottom. Mark this: when a law emanates from God Himself, that law will either be our uprising or our undoing, without exception.

Friend, in Christ, Isaiah 51:4 has come to pass. He is the unbreakable law emanating from Heaven! He is light for the blind and love for lost sinners and life for dying souls! But therein lies the choice today: will you thrive in His light or whither in the shadows?
