A Piece for Me?

Isaiah 53:12a
Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong …

The wonder of our Father’s proclamation here should make us blush with embarrassment to read. How does our divine Redeemer share His glory with redeemed sinners like us? We are weak, but He is strong, right? There’s no elite class of mighty men or angels to which He belongs. He’s in a class all His own. As John writes in Revelation 5:2b-3, ‘“Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it… And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”’

Friend, we can’t even open this Isaiah 53-scroll without turning our eyes away, much less that secret scroll of Revelation, because the fact is apparent: Christ is the only one worthy to receive glory for the good in our lives, yet, somehow, He calls us forward name by name, one by one, and divides His portion with us.
