A Hearing Test

Isaiah 18:3

All you inhabitants of the world, you who dwell on the earth, when a signal is raised on the mountains, look! When a trumpet is blown, hear!

About a year ago, a wind of inspiration struck and I began writing songs again for the first time in four years, and one of those songs came back to mind as I read Isaiah’s imperatives here. I hope these lines stimulate your reflection before the LORD today, friend. To speak of Incarnation—of God with a face like ours; of Love’s disfiguration— till we look through the scars. The Kingdom is a mustard seed—too small to apprehend; it grows beneath our feet—and towers in the end. So take a look around—but see through child’s eyes; the miracles are low—hid from the high and wise. A Treasure in the dirt—only the poor could find; Salvation free to all— who leave all else behind. He’s Rest for weary souls—so sick of all the noise; He can transfigure all—your sorrows into joys. If you have ears to hear—and you have eyes to see; behold The Spirit’s work! Don’t miss the mystery!

Right now—right where you are— salvation’s song is emanating from Zion. Can you hear it?
