Can Unbelievers Accept Christ After The Rapture?

by Stephen Davey

The answer is yes. In fact, people will come to Christ by the millions. I mentioned in a previous article that tribulation martyrs from every tribe and nation will stand before the throne of heaven.

Related to this, I’m often asked if those who rejected Christ before the rapture can accept Him after they realize they have been left behind. I have every reason to believe that those who rejected Christ before the rapture will continue to reject Him after the rapture.

Second Thessalonians refers to the strong delusion sent by God upon those who follow the lie of the Antichrist:

They refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false.

(2 Thessalonians 2:10-11)

The delusion of those who reject the truth will become even stronger during the days of the tribulation.

Even still, we know for certain that there will be untold millions of unbelievers who will come to faith in Jesus during the tribulation (Revelation 7:9-14). Satan will do everything in his power to defeat the witness of Christ, but the gospel will be proclaimed. There is even an amazing scene in Revelation 14:6-7, where an angel flies throughout the world delivering the gospel of Christ and inviting everyone from every tribe and tongue to trust in and worship the true and living God.

Imagine this scene—a worldwide gospel proclamation, delivered by a heavenly herald speaking the message of salvation in the language of every human being on earth. This angelic herald will deliver one final, universal invitation to everyone in the world to believe in their creator God.
