A listener asked: “My friend is a Black Israelite and he told me that Jesus was an African, He came to save Africans, and white people cannot be saved. Is that true?”
Thank you for asking this.
To answer this question, let's go back to the gospel. Consider these verses.
Romans 10:9: If you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:13: “Whosoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
What does "whosoever" mean? Whosoever means whosoever!
Then look at Revelation 7:9:
Revelation 7:9 “After these things, I looked and behold a great multitude, which no one could count from every nation and tribe and people and language standing before the throne. And before the lamb clothed in white robes.”
The important thing to note is that people from every tongue, tribe, ethnicity, every color imaginable are there in heaven. Anybody who puts a boundary around some race, nationality, color, or ethnicity is not delivering the gospel. Salvation has no racial boundaries.
So no, what your friend told you is not true.
Thanks for your question,
