    Holy Obsession - Romans 15:14-33

Originally preached on April – June 2006

Remember, you are God's sword, His instrument - a chosen vessel unto Him to bear His name. It is not great talent that God blesses so much as great likeness to Jesus Christ. A holy Christian is an awesome weapon in the hand of God. -Robert Murray McCheyne, 1836 At the very heart of someone with a holy obsession is the realization that God doesn't just choose sinners to be partakers in His divine nature, He chooses the worst of them. Unless we, like McCheyne, remind ourselves of the great indebtedness we have to the gospel every day of our lives, we will begin to content ourselves with becoming a retired display on a wall-like swords at a museum used in wars past, dulled and rusted-rather than active weapons in the hands of an awesome God.

    Bodies of Evidence

    Originally preached on April 2006

How much evidence is needed to make a case convincing? The case for the deity of Christ should have been settled when Jesus conquered death and rose from the grave, but for those who refuse to be convinced, Stephen Davey will present further evidence. This evidence is not diagrams, photographs, or even videotapes; it is far more powerful. It is dead people brought to life. Examine the evidence for yourself in Bodies of Evidence.

    Grey Matters - Romans 14:1-15:13

Originally preached on February – April 2006

One of the most difficult discoveries in the Christian life - particularly for the new Christian - is that life is not always black and white; it is often colored in grey. There are many areas in life where the answer is not found in a verse of Scripture, and the solution is not cut and dried. However, just because certain areas are not clear, does not mean they are unimportant. In this 9-message series, Stephen will examine the instruction Paul gives on dealing with difficult issues, and investigate the highly explosive topic of Christian liberty. For in the end, much of Christian living takes place in the area between black and white, and that's why Grey Matters.
