    Amazing Grace - Acts 16:19-40

Originally preached on October – November 1997

In John Newton's famous hymn "Amazing Grace" he wrote the line, "I once was blind, but now I see." There may be no more fitting picture of God's grace than a man who was once blind, now gazing upon the beauty of the sun for the first time. In this special 2-message set, Stephen reminds us of that wonderful moment when we saw the light of God's grace for the very first time. This set of messages is taken from the larger series of ACTS (Volume 2), "The Gospel Spreads", with Stephen preaching from Acts 16:31.

Turning The World Right-Side Up: Snapshots of the Apostle Paul - Selected Scriptures from Acts

Originally preached on March 1997 – October 1998

That God would use anyone is amazing, but that He would use someone like Paul is particularly remarkable. God took the Church's most feared persecutor and turned him into the Church's most prolific preacher! Let's join Stephen in this series to discover how He did it.

Saints and Scoundrels - Acts 4:23-24:27

Originally preached on December 1996 – September 1998

Watching the gunslinger stroll down the dusty boardwalk, it's always easy to tell if he is good or evil, whether he's on the side of the law or an outlaw. All you have to do is look at his hat and ask, "Black or White?" Though old Westerns made the bad guys easy to distinguish, life doesn't really work that way. In reality, the good guys make mistakes and the bad guys pretend to be good. The early church faced a similar problem trying to distinguish the saints from the scoundrels. In this series of 14 messages, Stephen examines some of the memorable characters from the book of Acts. Carefully removing their disguises, he uncovers life lessons from Saints and Scoundrels that still impact us today.
